Nippers Members Information
Hi All

On behalf of the Clifton Beach Surf Lifesaving Club, I welcome you to what is sure to be a fun and exciting Nippers program.
Our aim is to provide a safe, friendly and supportive environment where Nippers, parents and carers can enhance their knowledge about the beach, surf and surf lifesaving.
If you have any questions throughout the season that aren’t answered here, please refer to the Clifton Beach Members FB page and Teams App, or feel free to contact me via email at nippers@cliftonbeachslsc.com.au.
See you on the beach!
Clare Houston and Kate Pilkington
Nippers Coordinators
How can I get involved?
Parent help is always needed and very much valued at our club. Each year we call on Nipper parents and guardians to get on board as we cannot run the program without you.
On the beach we need age managers, assistants and people to help out with water safety. No lifesaving knowledge is necessary as you will learn alongside your Nipper.
If the beach isn’t your thing, we always need volunteers to help with the BBQ and canteen, people with an RSA to help out in the bar, volunteers to assist with set up and pack up … the list goes on!
Please put your hand up if you’re not sure what to do, someone will always be happy to show you.
Many hands make light work (and have heaps more fun) so feel free to approach us on the beach or via nippers@cliftonbeachslsc.com.au to volunteer your services.

Our Nippers Program
Nippers runs most Sundays at Clifton Beach from 3 December 2023.
Nippers range from 5 years through to 14 and are placed in their age group from Polar Bears who are our 5 and 6 year olds through to our U14s.
Polar Bear sessions run from 10am -11am and all other age groups are run 10am -12pm.
Each group is managed by an age manager or two who act like coaches and run the kids through a series of age and skill appropriate water and beach activities.
Nipper sessions are best finished off with a sausage or burger from the canteen!
Prior to December, introductory sessions will be held at the Clarence Pool and Cremorne Beach on Sunday mornings. Keep an eye out on Facebook or Stack Teams App for calendar and updates.
Please note there will be some weeks that there is no Nippers due to state-wide competitions. Further details about carnivals will be provided by age managers as the season progresses.
Uniform
All nippers are required to wear a pink high visibility vest and club cap when participating in Sunday Nippers sessions and during competition.
These items will be available for purchase during the first sessions of the year at Clarence Pool and Cremorne Beach.
Note: Polar bears will require a vest, but caps will be supplied by the club.

Stay Informed
The Stack team app is used by all age groups to communicate between age managers and parents. It provides a useful tool to get messaging out quickly, particularly if there are changes to the program. It is also great for linking parents in with each other.

Please install the app and check it regularly, along with the Clifton Facebook Members page to ensure that you are up to date with all the happenings at the club.
